We’ve just dropped a hefty update for Design Palette Pro that massively improves the UI and performance of the plugin. Here’s our favorite parts, with the full changelog at bottom.

New features and enhancements

For this release, our main goal was to improve efficiency and performance of the settings configuration and live preview area. The previous releases have showed some choppiness on certain systems, and conflicts with adjusting to different screen sizes. DPP 1.3.0 eliminates those issues and upped the sexiness of the UI with a layout change of the preview action bar and button/color picker improvements. Additionally, Design Palette is now 100% compatible with Genesis 2.1+ and has been updated to reflect the most current child theme defaults. For users not yet running Genesis 2.1+ or the most current child theme, backwards compatibility is provided where possible. After-Entry widget area support has been added for themes that make use of it. It can be enabled via filter.

How to install

If your license key is entered and active, you should see an update available in your WordPress Dashboard. Click to update to the latest version. If your license key is not entered… why? That’s how the magic happens! Alternatively, you can login to your account here, download the Design Palette Pro .zip file, and upload to your Plugins via your WordPress dashboard. As always, feel free to reach out via your support widget or email help@reaktivstudios.com if you run into any trouble updating.

What about the child theme support?

We know we promised that all StudioPress Pro child themes would be supported by July 30. Unfortunately, we realized we had to rewrite a lot of the plugin to improve the code base, and to account for changes in Genesis and child themes already supported. Now that the core of Design Palette Pro is good to go, and even better than before, we are back to work on knocking out child theme support as fast as possible. We do thank you for your patience and understanding!
