We’ve released a new update! Design Palette Pro is now version 1.8.1.

This update is all about embracing the future of WordPress as we are excited to introduce new Gutenberg block controls, new features for our Customizer interface, & support for 2 new child themes.

Additionally, our popular Google Web Fonts plugin has seen an upgrade which adds caching for Google Fonts API calls. Overall bug fixes and performance upgrades then round out this update.

Genesis Design Palette Pro v1.8.1

Introducing Design Palette Pro Blocks

We’ve added a new section to Design Palette Pro, which is our exciting new Block section. Gutenberg introduced a convenient way to add buttons to your posts, but the customization features were a little sparse. Now, you can have complete control over how your buttons will be displayed, with features that include Background Hover Colors, Border Colors, Padding, Font styles, & more!

Design Palette Pro v1.8 Gutenberg block buttons

In addition to button customization, we’re happy to also offer more control over how to style your Gutenberg Columns. Need more spacing between your columns? You can now customize the column spacing that is best for your website, without ever needing to touch any code.

Design Palette Pro Import/Export Support for the Customizer

This update also further develops our popular Customizer beta offering. We’ve extended our convenient import and export options to also include our Customizer beta settings. Are you working on similar websites that all need to share a certain similar aesthetic? Or are you part of an agency where all of your websites start with a defined set of branding rules? Or maybe you just want to backup your work? Importing & exporting would make all that easy to accomplish. Plus, while you’re working on your new website and making lots of changes, if you find you’ve gone too far and need to just start over, the handy reset button is there to help out – just remember to back up your work first 😉

Google Web Fonts

This release also syncs with an update to our Google Web Fonts plugin. We’ve added caching and error logging for Google Fonts API calls as well as added a convenient link to the Google Fonts font page. Important bug and optimization fixes have also greatly improved the overall performance of the plugin as well. Enjoy the creative expression that comes from customizing with a library of nearly 1,000 Google Fonts!
